Hi All,
I just thought I would share the title of a great book I have found that looks at future directions in policing and policing ethics. It is an Australian publication but I have checked and copies are available on Abebooks in the US and UK (a probably from a range of other suppliers and libraries). The book is:
Edwards, C. (2005) "Changing Policing Theories for 21st Century Societies" (2nd Ed) Federation Press, Sydney, Australia
The book not only explores policing in general, but also gives a historical development perspective of policing in Britain, the US and Australia. It then looks at current and developing policing strategies and responses to shifting crime trends and demographics.
I have found the book very easy to read and very informative.
