thoroughly enjoyed the call yesterday. closure, of course, will be a long time coming. ergo, some questions:
1. toward what audience(s) should our product(s) be directed?
2. what should we expect the nature of our product(s) to be, e.g., review of research, original research, research proposal, subjective consensus, . . . .
3. what scope should we attempt? training and/or education? line, supervisory, management, pervasive throughout the organization?
4. what sorts of organizations? limited to full-service law enforcement? any organization with law enforcement powers of any sort? policing?
5. will we focus on how one might address ethical questions, what those questions typically are, the degree to which the answers are held in common vs how they vary across jurisdictions?
6. do we have an operational definition of ethics for purposes of our venture(s).
my preference is to fumble around a while before we start making these decisions. i think this is fairly complex stuff, even though some is well-trod ground. much of the previous work is not particularly stellar. we should decide what kinds of previous work might be useful for us.
end ramble.
peace.
